Covenant in the Community

As part of the commandment to “love your neighbour as yourself”, we enjoy serving and partnering with our local community.

Here are some of the ways we have been involved this academic year 2025-2026:

Carols in the Care Home

We love visiting Peel Moat Care Home, our neighbours next door, and singing carols for the residents.

Planting at the Train Station

We partnered with Heaton Chapel Train Station to help plant and maintain flower beds, making the station a brighter and more welcoming place.

Collecting for the Foodbank

Our Harvest collection supported the local foodbank, helping families and individuals in need within our community.

Litter Picking at the Park

We take pride in caring for our local area by organising litter picking activities in the park.

Local History Christmas Production

We enjoyed learning more about our local history - Covenant Christmas, 1700s style. A handful of tired but eager mill-working children, a devoted Sunday school teacher and a visionary philanthropist told us the age-old story.

Last year we used one of our bespoke projects - Local Studies - as a springboard from which to explore the birth of Jesus. Inspiring, that in the very earliest days of the Stockport Sunday School, the same baby-Saviour-King Jesus was being trusted and adored there, as He is here in our little Stockport school today.

Plastic Shed Project

We collected and recycled plastic bottle tops and worked with Plastic Shed to create a colourful pollinator mural.

Sustainable Living in the Heatons

Representatives from Sustainable Living in the Heatons and Heatons Men in Sheds visited us to share ideas about supporting local environmental and community projects.

Visit from Navendu Mishra MP

It was a pleasure to welcome Navendu Mishra MP and discuss issues affecting our local community. We are looking forward to visiting Parliament next year.

Remembrance Day

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:12-13

We love being able to take a Remembrance Day walk down to the Heaton Moor memorial, remembering those who gave their lives, and to pray for those currently in places of conflict and all military families. Class 4 were honoured to meet a local war veteran who shared his experiences serving in the Cheshire Regiment and spoke about his Christian faith.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

As part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award, our young people have been volunteering in the local community and making a positive difference through service.

Stockport Book Awards

We have thoroughly enjoyed joining in with the Stockport Book Awards art competition this year and reading and voting on the books.

Level 2 Bikeability

A group of our pupils took to the local roads to complete Level 2 Bikeability. This gave real cycling experience that equips them with skills to deal with traffic on short local journeys, such as cycling to school or the local shops.

Toilet Twinning

Super proud of three of our youngest students. They walked 10 miles for Toilet Twinning (inspired by their water project!).  Tears, sweat, mud, tired muscles and lots of laughter.

Please let us know any other ideas of how we can get involved in local community projects.
