Partnership

We believe that raising and educating our children is primarily the responsibility of Christian parents. It is not a calling that we need to bear by ourselves, but for which God has graciously given us each other to help raise and educate our children.

And so, although each family is different in size, circumstance, time pressures, financial means, strengths, difficulties and of course responsibilities and roles outside of Covenant, the families at Covenant commit to partnering with each other in this vocation.

The norm is for parents to either contribute one day a week per child at Covenant or the equivalent monetary value of a day a week per child. Details of what this looks like in practice are discussed as part of the application process.

This partnership is mutual in every direction: parents are introduced to teaching responsibilities with support of the type and amount that is needful; we cover each other in times of personal or family need; resources and ideas are shared frequently. Flexibility and generosity of spirit are absolute essentials to a life shared at Covenant.

As in any small community or large family, so at Covenant, there are such good returns of enjoyment from work invested, that over the years we have found people keen to give more and more, with joy and work cultivating each other in a rising spiral!
